Role: Filmmaking Facilitator
Background:
E.D.E.N. Film Productions is an award-winning social enterprise with a proud 10-year history of producing documentaries, short films and training videos. We predominantly work with LGBTQ+ communities to provide filmmaking workshops, produce short & feature films and host screening events.
We have secured funding from The National Lottery’s Community Fund to run a filmmaking project aimed at showcasing and uplifting trans voices, experiences and stories. The project will be to create a short film to be screened in conjunction with Trans Day of Visibility in 2024.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to support the running of 10 x 2-hour filmmaking workshops for the LGBTQ+ community (9 sessions online via Zoom and one in-person session), starting in October 2023 through to February 2024. The successful candidate will work with the community group of filmmakers to produce a short film that will screen in March 2024.

Filmmaking Facilitator – essential information:
Project start date – Wednesday 18th October 2023, 6.30pm-8.30pm
Workshops will be 2 hours on Wednesday evenings between 6.30pm and 8.30pm running until February 2024. Dates will be provided on application.
Pay – £30 p/h (49 hours) = £1,470 total
The main responsibilities are to co-facilitate 10 x 2-hour filmmaking workshops for the LGBTQ+ community (a mixture of 9 x online sessions and 1 x in-person session), and to work with the community group to produce a short film that will screen in March 2024.
The successful candidate will also be required to assist in 15 hours of filming in January 2024 with the filmmaking group, and to help edit the final film together.
This is a freelance position. A DBS is required – please let us know if you have this or not. If not, we can help you get this sorted.
The successful candidate will have:
⁃ At least 2 years experience in filmmaking
⁃ Experience of filming, ideally using Sony cameras but not essential
⁃ Experience of editing, ideally using Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro X
⁃ Good communication skills; friendly with the ability to work with people easily
⁃ The ability to work to deadlines
⁃ Experience of delivering filmmaking workshops (ideally, but not essential)
⁃ A keen interest in LGBTQ+ equality and knowledge of issues facing LGBTQ+ communities, particularly trans and non binary communities
Given the specific remit of this project to work with and produce content for the LGBTQ+ community, the successful candidate should identify with the LGBTQ+ community or have lived LGBTQ+ experience.

What happens next:
