E.D.E.N Incubator was funded by the Big Lottery Fund’s Awards for All. E.D.E.N Incubator engaged members of the LGBTQ+ community in creating and distributing a video on their experiences and thoughts of homophobia and transphobia, to raise awareness of the issue for the wider community. The workshops involved training participants in how to use professional DSLR video equipment, edit and upload footage that captured the participants’ expressions of experiences of homophobia and transphobia.

The project included workshops training the members of the LGBTQ+ community in filmmaking skills, through academic and practical sessions. The group then developed their ideas for the film deciding to produce a documentary based on the theme family. They then developed a structure and produced a list of people they wanted to interview. The group then went out and filmed members of the LGBTQ+ community and then edited this together using Final Cut X.

The film was successful and screened at the Sheffield Odeon Cinema, Icons, The Royal Standard Pub, Climax, and on Sheffield Live! TV
