An introduction to camerawork and cinematography 

Jack’s masterclass will explore the role of the camera operator and cinematographer and look at what it means to work in the UK independent film industry. We will explore best practice working, career paths and aspirations as well as the importance of building your range of diverse skills to ensure you are always the right person for the job. We will look at technical aspects of camera work, understanding shot structure, lighting and working with the constraints of a limited budget. We will also discuss life on a film set, documentary film making and the why attention to detail is so important. Finally we will be looking at how to make a good first and lasting impression.

This masterclass is for ages 18+ and will be hosted via a Zoom meeting. Please refer to our Zoom Guidelines.

Jack Peter Mundy Biography

Jack Peter Mundy is a Director, Cinematographer and Producer. Born in Hillingdon, Jack studied film at Christ Church University, Canterbury. In 2017 he formed his company (We) Film Everything and directed his first short film ‘Parallel’ alongside a number of music and commercial films. He has worked extensively on a wide range of diverse projects over the past four years including the critically acclaimed LGBTIQ+ documentary ‘Pride and Protest’. 2020 saw nine more Cinematographer credits for independent feature films as well as four directing credits for feature films due for release this year. Jack is also a well established CAA approved drone operator.
