Our project, Transforming Cinema, aiming to bring a transgender film festival to Sheffield, was one of five finalists in the National Lottery Fund and ITV’s The People’s Project in 2016. Unfortunately, we were unsuccessful in winning the funding we had hoped to secure in order to put on a film making course as well as a national festival, but we were still determined to make Transforming Cinema happen!
As part of the competition the two runners up were able to apply for a smaller amount of funding for their projects. We were awarded £5,000 from The Big Lottery Fund, which we used to setup and run Transforming Cinema in November 2016.
